I like the stripes, but agree with Wakepowell and would remove them if I knew that it could be done really well.

im one of the weirdo's that prefers a 70 without stripes especially black. that being said i feel like it would be a hassle to go through and the car still sit. If you had someone ready to buy and said i wont until theyre removed then so be it.

Bucket seats no console and black with no stripes make the car extra special since delivered that way . Would be more appealing to me as original as possible and car would look better imo . If lacquer paint is available now and might not be later definitely stripes should be removed . Then send bill to whoever had stripes put on car , so hopefully they won’t alter such an original well preserved car in future , or at least inform them that vinyl would have accomplished same look without altering car . Thinking no stripes would help car sell and worth investment .

This is one of my all time favorite LS6 Chevelles. I thought it was a shame when the dealer added the stripes. To me the with the stripes being added it was not a positive , but also was not a negative for the car as the car speaks for its self. I'd vote for removing the stripes.

If the black is still original paint, it may be best left for the next owner to decide? If repainted now and buyer wants stripes, he'd paint them back on but original black would be lost? ~ Pete .

I prefer without stripes, but maybe a lot of buyers will like them, I'd leave them alone if they are nicely done.

If the stripes were done absolutely correctly then I’d leave them. If anything at all is wrong about them then they need to go.

A 70 chevelle w/o stripes is a Monte Carlo. Stripes all the way.

Isn't the whole premise of survivor not being restored? And to fix this issue you would have to restore the paint. I agree this crime against humanity ranks right up there and the guy that did it needs a good kick, but its done now and will always forever have altered paint - might as well leave them. BTW I dont like stripes on a black Chevelle.

Do you think a real patient painter could sand them off and buff the original laquer?
