Quick update: Got the body off the rotisserie, and back on the dolly. Also got it home from my buds body shop, where I did all the body/paint work. It's on the dolly because it's going out for the vinyl top and headliner, the 2 things I won't do. That should be done in a week or so. Then it's going back on the finished chassis. Thats always a big step forward. More pics of that in a couple weeks. Also started assembly: Dash, moldings, emblems, etc.

Good eye Dennis. Yes, it's a 57 Olds, that belongs to the friend of mine who owns the shop. It's actually in nice shape. The chassis is done, and the body needs very little before paint. It's getting an LT-1, although the original motor is being saved.

I've had a busy few days with the Elky project. Had the vinyl top and headliner put on the car. As soon as that was finished, the body went back on the chassis. Just finished a couple hours ago. It was pretty straight forward. I made a gig out of 2 x 2 steel tubing, and some simple hardware, to bolt to the cowl, so I could raise the front of the body with 2 engine hoists, and still be able to role the finished chassis under the raised body. Also had a hoist in the rear, chained to the bed/tailgate bolt holes. Then invited a couple friends over for a body/chassis reuniting party. All went well. Everything fit right into place. Looking forward to some easier projects, like carpet, moldings, etc.. Here's a few shots of the process. Pics are a little dark, but the flash does light up the orange huh?

Looking good Bill. Gotta love it when they start to look like a car/truck again. Keep the pictures coming.
