Interesting...in all these pics, the car has a front bumper and '68 fenders/marker lights . The previous pic has no bumper and '67/no marker light fenders. Second season with markers removed/holes filled and fenders "lightened" over winter, or actual '67 fenders ?? Could be why Joe claimed they were in bad condition when he got the car and he sold the front clip ?
Really like to see a good pic of the nose stripe on the bumperless car.

The car was repainted from yellow to white, the nose stripe in pics is '68 style and lacks a break for the engine displacement.

Be interesting to see if it was repainted or touched up from a marker hole filling or complete fender replacement, or completely different from the upper valance being replaced/painted too. The pic bumper less pic is too fuzzy to see if the small side stripes are on there.

I wish we could go back and ask Grumpy more questions.... RIP. Did he paint up IV so it would look like III, or he didn't like the '68 stripes or it was just a time thing...

Ain't that the truth. You'd love to be a fly on the wall when he'd start telling stories

One pic that I do think is cool...is my daughter Holly with Bill-a bunch of years ago at Barrett-Jackson. He wasn't grumpy that day

Great thread guys !! Thanks SYC

I remember being offered to purchase what was supposed to be Toy VIII way before its whereabouts were well known. It was far from even looking like a 70 Camaro, but there were a few tell tale signs that were rather convincing. Unfortunately with no docs at the time, I did not bite. Seems like it turned out to be the real car after all. I know I took pics back then and I may have some old pics somewhere. I’ll post if I find them.
