Back in the 1980s we ran 235/60R15 Eagle STs on 71-72 Chevelle SS steel 5-spoke 15x7 wheels (all 4 corners) on a stock ride height '69 Chevelle. They fit with plenty of room and never rubbed anywhere on a daily driven car. I think those Chevelle / Z28 15x7s had 4.25" backspace, but I am not 100% sure. Hope this helps. |

Checked the wheels and they are 3 3/4 backspace, so maybe I will have to have a tire mounted to do a physical check for clearance.
Car is being readied for some touch up work on the roof where the clear-coat had peeled, so have to paint that area, then clear the whole roof and part of both quarters. ![]() ![]() |
