----So cool that you two are returning the car to just how Cousin Eddies Father picked it up when brand new. If you can't find a stainless polishing guy closer to you that you feel you can trust, I have the name and number of a guy here in the greater Detroit area. The Detroit guys on the sight will probably have heard of him. Gordon Duda. I'll PM his number. You will like him, as I do!....Bill S

Rainy day here in Northern IL - so a perfect time to start tearing into things and get organized for this initial phase. Dissembled sub assemblies and got ready to drop off at the blaster next week. Bench seat was dropped off at upholstery guy's on Thursday to remove the ratty seat cover and foam/burlap so that can get to blaster later next week too. Spindles look really clean and won't take much to clean up.

Can't ever get to the end if you don't start.......

Are you having upholstery made, or buying Ciadella covers ?
I installed Ciadella covers on my '62 and they fit great.

I think the upholstery guy is looking at covers from CARS and carpet from ACC. We put a Ciadella carpet set in the car a few years back and I was disappointed with it after everyone said their stuff was the best.

Yeah, I put ACC carpet in my '62, so no idea what they supply.
CARS seats sound good, made in MI, but their online catalog sucks... no pics of most items.

Seat frame, spindles, drums, and hubs dropped off at sandblasters last week, should be done later this week. Interior parts all ordered. Seat covers are 3 months out, so will wait until everything is in and have interior shop do the whole thing in one trip (seat covers, headliner, and carpet). I haven't bought parts at this scale in a while and prices have sure gone up. Glad I don't have to do the whole car!

Made some more progress this week. Picked up the parts from the blaster on Thursday and got everything but the hubs painted yesterday. Hubs will require some more cleaning to get the old grease out from the inside prior to painting. Got an initial quote on the aluminum trim restoration...........gulp . The brackets I needed for the seat trim came in and I ordered all of the brake lines/fittings/hoses for the swap.

Happy Fathers Day!
