I assume you did not use just Matador Red flattened>?

This product worked VERY well. Same as Dash TOP not Face of Dash

added Edit: The Liner is SMS from Canby Oregon, Made to order.

I matched 71486 for the dash top, but thought the dash face and all other exposed interior panels were 71591. See my post #97 and let me know if you think I’ve misinterpreted the charts.

I just Read (*PUN Intended) LOL
The 1968 CHEVROLET INTERIOR COLORS (PPG) Index No. 5 (Chevrolet, Corvette, Chevelle, Corvair, Camaro, Chevy II)

FLAT COLORS "O" GLOSS

Used on: Upper Instrument Panel (Exposed Areas aka TOP). Back window Header and Lower corner Lace Escutcheons, Radio grill assy Rear window Defog Grill
INT Color 724, 725, 795, 868

Dark Red 71486
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I do See Where you are reading the "Low Gloss Section." apply to similar areas.

I might have done this wrong on MY Car, I am very confused at this point. & It is mute in my case. But I believe since it was in the Viewing area based on use of the rear view mirror it should be the Zero gloss

But I also had the advantage of some remaining Factory applied Rear Red to compare, but it was in Bad shape.

Your doing AMAZING Work.

We have talked a bit over at CRG & this was not a nit picking conversation. We are fellow RED int Cars & in the minority when viewing a Sea of Black Int car.

Here is my original real package tray area right after the window was pulled for the first time.

BILL! Well there you go. You Nailed it.
In any Case My Car used the 486 back there base on my remaining.

Remind me yours a NOR -vs- my (early) Dec 67' LOS>?

Could be a variety of reasons; Plant, Build Date, Trim level etc.

I get a Variety of Reactions over the RED int at Car shows.

Yes mine is May Norwood.

Here is a great old shot of me in my mom’s 67 in 1974 when I was 13. Dash showing perfectly.

Love seeing the snow tires on it. My older brother‘s first car was a 68 Camaro and he had studded snow tires. In Michigan you could have studs back then and I remember even with studs and some weight in the back that thing was still easy to fishtail in

I’m not where I can work on the car for a bit, so hopefully no one minds my nostalgic detour into first gen Camaros. Here are a few more of them that have blessed me over the years.

Starting with my first car. White 67 with deluxe white. I rebuilt the engine and powerglide when I was 15 and had it ready for my drivers license that winter. Painted it black out in the gravel driveway the next summer. Complete with cool chrome cowl panel and bought and mounted one rally wheel at a time as I could afford them.

Check out the options on the green one. It was blue when I had it and later owner did it justice, then sold it at Russo & Steele in Monterey around 2010 or so.
