So........The story continues with the brake issues that I have had with this car since it's completion........Never again with this crap.......I bought a 4 wheel disc brake set-up thinking it would be a matched set-up and just bolt it on...........They sent the wrong pads with the kit to start with.......then found out the master cylinder wasn't sized correctly to work with the supplied vacuum booster.......Put the Hydro boost on and everything worked fine.......Yesterday I parked the car on a incline and applied the parking brake .......put the car in neutral and it rolled backwards........Humm !!!!.......I have a E-brake pedal but no stopping power........Get it home and put it up on the lift .........These are the GM Seville rear calipers so I'm sure it's the inherent problem associated with this set-up.....even with the brake applied the pads were loose in the calipers...........Now I know why GM stopped using this design.........anyhow..........Ordered a new rear Disc set-up with expanding drum E-brake.........Again.......I now realize I can't afford Cheap Stuff.........Going to do it the right way .........Here are some pic's.......New parts should be waiting for me when I get home later

I considered one of those CPP systems, but your experience along with the experience of may others has changed my mind.

It never ends..........When I built the car originally, it had a 10 bolt in it.........so.....I looked around and bought a 12 housing off eBay........I took it over to Chassis Service in Beach Park and told Jimmy to go thru it and put in everything new.......Bearing, axles, Posi, Ring and Pinion, etc........So....when I picked it up I remember Jimmy saying something about the large axle bearings..........I didn't pay much attention because everything fit and it didn't matter at the time.........
So........Today the "Real" rear brake system showed up........I opened up the boxes and realized right away there were some issues......So, I started measuring things.......what the heck is going on here.........I could tell by looking that the locating dia on the E-Brake shoe mounting plate that bolts to the axle flange was smaller than the dia on the axle flange on the housing ( The dia that originally located the drum brake backing plate)........as I measured it seems the new plate had a 2.718 bore thru it........The dia on the axle housing was 3.438........That's when I remembered the comment about the bigger bearings, hence the larger dia...........Damm.....Here we go again.......That housing must be a heavy duty unit from a station wagon or something.........Darn.....Here we go again......Talked to the Tech at Wilwood and he was just as confused as I was..........Anyone know anything about these rear ends ??????

If you are looking for another rear, Desert Valley Auto Parts near us has several 65-66 big cars that still have 12 bolts in them. At least they did last time we were there. Just saying.
