Seems a little slow on this thread so I'll throw one on that's not seen every day. I parted with this car around 10 plus years ago. The restoration efforts were performed during my ownership. I believe this '70 Chevelle LS5 convertible to be one of the earliest produced with a Van Nuys build date of 12/17/69. It came with the original build sheet.....buckets and M22 equipped. I followed these particular convertible models equipped with the LS-5 for probably a dozen years through ads, etc. and found none that were fully documented with a production date earlier than this. They could be out there but I never found one with docs. I was told at one point that one of the very earliest LS-6 versions was produced one day earlier at Van Nuys as well. Don't know if that is true or not. Both the noted LS-6 one and mine were shipped to Denver but to different dealerships. I don't have the full history of our car but know it spent considerable time in CO & OK. The car still needed a very few small finishing items when I sold it. Very solid, rust free, and original for the most part. I would term it a high driver level after restoration.......too nice to drive eventually for my comfort level anyway.

Today is the birthday of my 1969 L71 Corvette.
Dec. 16, 1969
It’s a very late build, Tuxedo black car.
Apparently it was originally a Sidepipe car according to all the previous owners.
Not sure why the guy I got it from removed them.
The black and white pic is from the second owner.
