I am going to do a Steering conversion update in the near future........But.....This little issue popped up this week....We were at the Mundelein car show and when we left and turned out on Rt 45........the car started squeeling like crazy.......I thought a idler pulley froze up and the belt was eating itself.......that's what it sounded like, pulled over and opened the hood.......everything alright......Hummm!!!!......start driving again and the noise got quieter, but I could feel a grinding thru the steering wheel.......Hummm!!......25 miles from home.....what to do......I decided to keep driving and see if I could make it home.......Made it home and here are some pic's of what happened.....new parts on the way...........

AND star lock washers are just fine -- but they need to engage the bolt head and in this case it appears they do not ... the lock portion extends further out from the surface of the bolt.

Guilty as charged. How could the washers be wrong. They came with the kit. Lol

Reminds me of something Alan Sheppard, the astronaut, said in an interview when asked what he was thinking in the seconds before rocketing into space: "That every single part on the vehicle was provided by the lowest bidder."

Isn't that the damn truth -- I've flown way too many miles in aircraft "made by the lowest bidder" but am still able to remember and have survived.
