Yeah Joe, I was impressed at how the auctioneers used pauses to get the crowd and bidders back into it but I would have liked to see the Motion car get a couple hundred K more.

I think they were very disappointed with the Motion car. I would think they imagined it would bring at least around 600 or more.

I would have liked to see it go to 500k --you know a little cushion---And an extra 100k or 200k would have made the team do backflips,--after a tense minute or two they did make their target and that was the mission.....

Agree..we are humanbeings after all,so it is not a perfect process.
There was a situation Friday where a car was gaveled SOLD and drove away..There was a distant bidder in the seats screaming at the gavel he was willing to bid more then the winning bid, with an auction Capt. next to him doing the same.
But to no avail,as the gavel did not hear them and announced the bidding was ultimately closed.
But what also happened was two seperate other people both thought they were the winning bid on that car, smiling & shaking hands with thier respective friends..So the podium announced they would reopen the bidding again to settle this between the two who thought they both won it at the exact same price.Once they reopened it,the distant bidder who was willing to bid more ended up out bidding both of them and became the winner. It can be confusing sometimes.

I was suprised to see that Motion Camaro do $450K. I also thought is was VERY unfair that they spent so much time on that car when others were quick sold.

All I can say is that I have never heard of a REAL BM car do $450K so how in the heck do they expect to have a line of people waiting to drop $450K on that thing? Like the announcers said, that car does not have much in common with the BM cars from the glory days other than in name.

I was laughing, you could hear the panic in Chip Foose's voice when he was saying how this wasn't a Over Haulin car, it wasn't built in a week!!

The common theme seems to be people will pay extra money for a name or a statistic with a vehicle. I don't know what to really think other than this situation only happens once a year so don't think these prices will occur again until next Jan.

I saw a couple of guys with a winning bid and the auctioners arm is locked on the 3rd and final call sometimes a little longer than called for, which cost some fellas a car ........
What I didn't know was that FORD is offering turn race cars from the factory----just like back in the day
