Default Re: Ray Skillman Collection

I had a chance to visit Mr Skillmans toy box last July. Yea the cars are neat but the building is a real piece of art. The floor is very impressive and it is very clean in there. Dan did you notice the conferance room on the second floor and the two hotel type rooms up there. The body shop is as good as any dealerships with the most up to date tools and booth. I think there were 8 bays in the back with a drive on dyno in the floor. And then the transport vehicles in the back he must have had at least 4 trailers and tow vehicles and 2 or 3 multi vehicle transportes all new. I don't believe this collection is open to the public.

Nice looking Camaro.

A very top shelf operation. Also big participants and supporters of local and national drag racing scene.

Couple of side notes, he bought at an auction an old carnival carousel that was bought and planned for the infield at the Indy 500 back eons ago. Now it is fully restored and in the center of this collection.

Last year we bought a new GMC Yukon XL from his GMC Dealership. As we worked with the salesman on the deal, my wife threw out there that she had an old MG she might trade in. Most dealerships wouldn't have cared about a car like that, but the guy called Ray who came over, drove it and wanted it, so that helped on the XL deal.

Yes its a very nice car highly optioned great restoration but no documentation. The car was purchased as is by Ray years ago for the museum. The lack of documentation is a bummer for me ill need to ponder on this one, plus I just bought a V code Cuda and hate to dig more into the mad money....

Finding some history on the Camaro would definitely help on the decision.

I would consider it overly restored, but nice work.
