Very well said, Jeff....With an estimated 8-10k annual vehicle production planned on the GT500, (from what I've seen in various news clips) it's not worth it (to me, at least) to pay a premium up front just to get a hold of one.

I think the Shelby would be much more in demand[Last count there were 62 on ebay at the same time, many of which have "sold" once or more times only to get relisted] if there werent so many other Mustang choices. You have the GT,the California Special, the Hertz replica rent a car, the Parnelli Jones Edition,Roush,Saleen,Cobras ,and talk of a 302 boss,429boss, gt500kR,etc next year .Thats not even counting Eleanor,Foose and the seeemingly hundreds of aftermarket kits, and motors that can be put in a base mustang to create clones of these cars. Its like all the Vintage musclecar mustangs are being available at the same time. If i had 50K to buy one,id be confused as to which one to buy.

Well said. I think the proliferation of Bullitts, GTs, GTHs, etc are what hurt the value of the GT500s. Think about the Mustang Rs that sold for big bucks years ago...

I still cant understand why no one hits the "buy it nows" on these cars available for 57K, yet bidders fight over the 35 other identical cars at over 64K ???? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-Must...1QQcmdZViewItem

Sounds like someone is trying to create hype.
Wait until January, they will be discounted by then.
Just another new car that is going to depreciate quickly.

[/ QUOTE ] I think the Dealer Mark up on these cars has got to hold a record. I cannot believe how long it has lasted. in the last month I have heard of these 2008's being sold at sticker or $5000 above. incredible. Wait until the new Camaro Comes out!!

[/ QUOTE ] Yes but when you consider they were asking 15 to 25K over on the 2007s it has come down alot. The car being in the mid 40s for a coupe has room for the dealer to keep hammering the consumer as its still a great car for the $$. If it was a 75K car theyd be selling under sticker i believe . They are asking 50 to 80K over sticker on the 2008 KRs,and it isnt that much more car than the gt500. One local dealer quoted me 175K for a 50/55K or so invoice priced car just the other day

" Just another new car that will quickly depreciate "
I wonder if all those people buying new Shelbys in 1967 thought the same way? Will my 6 year old in 30 years be out looking in fields and barns for these new Shelbys?
Just a thought!!
