That happened to a friend of mine here in Illinois,Jim A.
He was on an original owner for decades about selling his Original 71 Chrysler that he bought brand new.The owner always said he'd think about it...
One day in the middle of January,out of the blue the original owner calls him up and says,"Buddy...Now or Never!".
My friend pulled up with a trailer,paid for it,and brought it home.He takes the car down and finds no paper inside for his particular car.The original owner had not kept any as well.
He calls Galen with the VIN #,and Galen says,"you're one lucky SOB..I've got ALL the paperwork on that car,more then most!"
Galen arrived at my friends shop weeks later to hand him the paperwork on it,as well as authenticate it.He paid Galen handsomely for all,and it was worth it as it turned out he has one of the latest made vehicles known to date.
I can't remember the exact details,but it was a unique find.
