There are other hotels south from the auction right off the 101. They are not that much further from the hotels off N.scottsdale road and maybe less expensive. Also I suggest spending the 300.00 bucks and getting a bidders' pass. Not only do you have the option of bidding, but you get close-up parking access and admission for yourself and a guest. Admission this year is 50.00 a day per person so this seems to make sense. BTW, last Pavillions' car show I attended had original '71 hemi cuda coupe and convertible and '69 COPO Chevelle (Micky Hale restored) and perfect blue LS6 etc. so it's worth checking out. The only thing that sucks about it is the obnoxious music.

Like COPO, I have wanted to go for several years. I will be there Thursday-Sunday and plan to get my money's worth. You can sleep when you are dead! Probably can't afford anything there but just look forward to the experiance. Tell me more about were and when on the McDonald's thing. I suspect that just like spectacles everywhere there is as much going on in the surrounding area as at the show. Anyone else have other suggestions on activities us newbies might not know about? Maybe a planned get together(lunch, dinner, beer) is a good idea,I am certainly game.

I'll be there in the midway selling the new Auto-Spin.com turntable. Look for my blue 69Z spinning around (in case the Auto-Spin signs and the blimp flying above aren't a tip-off). Stop by and take a load off - I'll have an extra chair or two.

BJ has been sold out since about October. This even with the extra day added. I've sold stuff (firetrucks with calliope, popcorn wagon, etc.) through the auction other years and didn't enter until November. No auction car for me this year.

The buying frenzy amazes me every year. Where else can you buy that special car that you can't drive, probably can't verify history on, won't hear run until the last minute and is truly part of a sellers market?? No question there are some great, real cars. And some that just LOOK that way!

I may have room for another car coming back to Iowa (enclosed trailer)just in case you find that super buy.

Dave
