[ QUOTE ]
"what I did here was present the side that was presented to us...." No, you told us what was true about the car in a completely biased and pompous way. If you think that you gave the unbiased "facts" for all to evaluate you are a fool. Only a true idiot strongly supports facts that he cannot verify. [/ QUOTE ] are you calling me an idiot and a fool??......I never called you or anyone else here a name...I came here with the info that we recieved from the owner...all the paper work that he brought to us was returned......we knew there was no way that we can sell a car like that plain and simple...I realy dont care if its a real or built or what ever it is.......all I know its a 69 Chevelle with an L88 painted in Yenko trim...find someone who worked there that remembers if this was built there OR not....Im not going to go chase it down outside of calling Mike up this week and asking for more info...I felt that it was a good story whether true or not...Mike believes its the real deal......Im not Mike.....so get off your high horse |

Not sure if this means anything or not but the vertical gate shifter in the car is the later style that came out in 74ish and on up. The first style had a litle round bar off the main handle and they were prone to breakage. It was a poor design. Mr. G then came out with the triangular shaped brace that was very strong. This piece is on the front of the shifter.

The lakewood cage is the typical 3 point kind and it came out in 66-67 era.
I noticed in an old pic the car had a Mr. Gasket Vertical gate. The first style came out in '72 and the second style came out in '74ish. I can't remember if it had the first or second style but the style would help date the car. |

The motor in the car is a 427 from a 68 Corvette with a Corvette VIN so there's no way it's the original motor for the car. The rest of the story is interesting but without some solid proof or paperwork it's a crap shoot.
