John, Stefano, or anyone else, did Service Chevrolet on Harlem Ave. in Elmwood Park handle any hi-po cars? I just saw one of their dealer decals on a car the other day, but didn't have my dig camera with me. I remember driving by there several times a week in the '70s, but not much of a recollection as to details.

Belair,
I don't remember knowing about Johnnie's (or even Gossage Grill for breakfast) until after high school. I was probably headed north on Harlem to the old Harlem-Irving Drive-In Theatre or to the roller rink for some "trolling". ![]() |

No Service Chevy did not have many HI Po cars. I lived in Elmwood Park and went by there a lot I do not remember seeing many Hi Po cars. When they went out of business I bought most there parts stock at their auction.I used to work at Johnnies and also Cassidy Tire next to Gossage grill. I give Johnnies 4 stars and Gossage 1-1/2. CRUISING HARLEM THOSE WERE THE DAYS.
