Default Re: Holley List-4492 3969898-GR

First let me say I’m not here to try selling the carburetor I’m talking about. I’m sorta like a sponge and trying to learn as much of the small details on the rare autos as possible. I imagine myself sorting and identifying bolts in my old age. Ok that being said I’ve exhausted my searches for any details about this carburetor and I’m only finding it with the -GR. (3969898-GR) I have one that does not have this. It is dated from the 2nd week of Aug 1969. I’m just wondering if anyone else has seen this or if maybe it’s possible that the early produced ones possibly did not have the -GR stamped on them. This doesn’t need to be a big discussion, this is just for my curiosity.

Thanks in advance,
-Joe

Correct, early assembled 1970 Holleys,(4492/4557 etc.) did not have the two letter application code originally. My 1970 (Sept.69) L-78 has it's original still, like your shown and I have acquired a few more spares dated same.I will not discuss the dates they started doing them that I have seen them, but you get the idea.
