Stripes on LS6 poll.

Always heard that you can't unring a bell. But apparently you can. I would say that since the stripes aren't original they need to go away. It's not like you're really changing anything,the paint isn't original anymore because some dipshit decided to mess it up.

The problem now is that the stripes will likely be etched into the painting which means that you can completely sand them off and re-clear coat and after a while you'll see the outline of them in the new clear coat which IMHO will look worse!

Chris White is the one who'd be doing the repaint. Very talented and quite accomplished in the Chevelle circles. He would be sanding the stripes down before blowing the hood back in with OEM style black lacquer.

No clear coat work involved in the process.

Someone should confirm with Chris that no etching will occur....this is a big problem with ex-drag cars with painted numbers on them when people try to sand them off!
