A 70 chevelle w/o stripes is a Monte Carlo. Stripes all the way.

Isn't the whole premise of survivor not being restored? And to fix this issue you would have to restore the paint. I agree this crime against humanity ranks right up there and the guy that did it needs a good kick, but its done now and will always forever have altered paint - might as well leave them. BTW I dont like stripes on a black Chevelle.

Do you think a real patient painter could sand them off and buff the original laquer?

You probably don't want my opinion.

Stripes or not, the main thing is that it's a black LS6. Can't get any better than that. As most have said leave the stripes on the car for the next owner to decide if they want to keep them or not. I wish I had the funds, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

The thing about the stripes is that I truly believe Charlie can find someone to handle the job properly. I think a lot of folks who have issues with the stripes being added probably aren’t confident that they have access to a painter/detailer who can correct the situation without a repaint. If Charlie handles it properly, then that issue goes away. It’s like removing a vinyl top-sure it can be done with care and blending but who really wants to open that can of worms and risk having to do a full repaint? (Also black Chevelles don’t need stripes to look mean)

I'd leave it alone and leave up to the buyer, or take a substantial deposit on the car and then handle stripe removal on behalf of a buyer if they really want them removed, but do not want to take on that task themselves.
