Having bought a NOS front grille bezel for the 73 RS LT Z I am restoring it had light chrome in the deep corners and fine scratching, I did not want the NOS Chrome parts to be a drastic difference to the bumpers on the car, Plus my emblems and everything trim wise would be NOS then Show chrome bumpers would be out of place.
I have had a problem with the amount of polishing that the platers do it seems that the definition of the lines is lost and everything looks "soft"... or rounded... ADDITIONALLY I WILL NOTE: The NCRS 70-72 Vette judging manual 5th edition states that there should be thin chrome on the bumperettes in the tight corners etc & on the front corvette bumpers held through the 2 holes which have halos around the holes from being held there during plating.
