Thanks, guy wants to do some car swapping and I wanted to make sure it was a matching numbers block as he told me. The painted pad is the one he wants to trade in. Seems I can also see an angle in the pad, red flag for me. I'll tell him I have to pass. Unless you say it's legit. Thanks for the help!

Just to clarify, 'matching numbers' and 'original engines' are totally different things.

Yes, thanks Pete, you are correct, the "numbers" on this car he is offering match the vin, however it's my opinion it is not the "original engine" the car was born with.
I'm still trying to figure out how to break the news to him, I don't want to say "restamp", so I'm thinking "inconsistent with other known examples". Thanks again for the input!
