True..two people I knew with 5.7 liter IROC Camaros both had that happen to em after filling up while the tanker was there.
Both had engines stalled within minutes of leaving the station. Later they contacted the gas station, and after showing the receipt w/time stamp, the tow charge and the mechanics estimate to fix it,the stations paid them. |

Here in my home state the highest octane gas available at the pumps is 98 (legal for road use). Haven't done it for a while, but we used to head out to the nearby regional airport and buy a few gallons of Avgas, then mix with the 98. Good times.

I took a few shots waiting for them to open. I also finally took a picture of my cowl tag and noticed the characters are stamped at different depths. Someone should track real cars against those being considered as real, as I would suspect tags with same depths if all characters are the same. I never noticed it until now. Mopar fender tags show the same behavior (if real). Enjoy. ![]() The Trim Tag stampers are now offering variable depth stamping on request. It's best to specify which characters you want deep and which you want shallow, as it can vary from plant to plant and month to month. Yours looks pretty good for 06A NOR. Probably real. You can also get tinted rivet caulk, so that it appears original and never removed. It's so nice this board is open to discussion regarding trim tag nuances. Other Camaro boards seem to discourage it. |

^ this is exactly why others discourage it.

You guys have probably already downloaded the "pure gas" app - Shows you where the nearest non-ethanol gas stations are. Doesn't show the octane available though.

I use that for ethanol-free in my air-cooled 911. |
