Thanks Dave. Unfortunately after buying the unit and the labor to make it look correct it would run over $100 and I do not know too many people willing to pay that much for a repop so at this point I have only been doing them on customer's cars. So typical of every reproduction part I buy. I have to rework every part to make it more closely resemble an original when it would have been much easier if they just did it right the first time.

Makes sense. I've been doing the same thing with the few things I had to buy a/m including my new floor pan. My a/m one didn't come with the rear seatbelt mount plates that are welded on the bottom. I had to transfer my originals over. No attention to details...

Dave,
Not all of the original fittings have the recess around the outer edge of the hex like the one Rich posted. Here's a few pictures of some NOS fittings and one that I have reworked from a reproduction. I am currently working on making these properly with use of CNC equipment. Nice examples Chris. Thanks. I keep having to remind myself that those are for the 375 hp, not my L34 350 hp 396. I was looking for one of those when my style is actually a little different.
Apparently the 325 & 350 hp big blocks got one that looked like this: ![]()

I mocked up an aftermarket set up on my extra motor. Here is what the 350hp & 325hp 396ci is supposed to look like as I understand it. It looks like there is another bushing between the block and the fitting in the AIM, but I've never seen one and it doesn't come with the a/m set up.
