Does the edge look smooth or is it rough cut at all? I have had open element "bases" that were actually snorkel type bases that had the outer part cut off. Good head scratcher.

Edge is very smooth. If this was cut out of another air cleaner, someone had some great tools and skill.

I wish I knew what it was - it just might be the perfect thing for me to use on my Q-jet with a reproduction '66 L79 nova lid for a &quot;period correct&quot; &quot;faux stock&quot; appearance on my '65 Chevy II.
