Hurst wheels were never on a nova. Even the hurst giveaway car had cragars on it. Hurst wheels were not even manufactured after 68 for those in the know. So they never could have been on a 70.

Yes, the Roof Deuce was definitely in the first order of 125 cars, and was not converted by Hurst. We are not aware of any Deuces that came new with Hurst wheels, but they don't look half bad.... Schoneye is correct about the side pipes, there is a SY Deuce in Nebraska that still has 'em - looks cool too!
Hey, if that is the way you choose to enjoy the car while you are the caretaker - have at it, manifolds with sidepipes, Hurst mags, roll control, dual quads... !

What does the word customizing mean?? Its all about doing your own thing. Scott is having a great time playing with one of his new toys. I think he put some fun touches on the car. And if he gets tired of it we can always put it back to stock, or what ever he decides to do with it. The damn car is not a Rembrandt that you cant touch. Scott and I have been there, done that.. Way too boring!

Correct Ken but Scott did put this out there for reactions so he is getting opinions which I am sure all this attention is what he wants! You can put red blinking lites in the wheelwells if you want. All a matter of taste.

Its all good, not looking for attention, just loving the hobby and having fun sharing. All opinions are welcome and supported, its what its all about. As for taking Headers off, they just make to much heat and noise for me, this car is a "drive once in a while car" and I want to keep it as clean and nice as possible, and headers just bake it a bit to much for me. As for track, no way, I had the stock exhaust ported to give it a bit better flow with the dual 4v, if I want to go fast I will take the PRO Street GN out for a drive....however I am getting to the age where I don't really like going fast anymore. This is my version of an "Executive Day 2". Thank you for the input and comments, it keeps things fun and gives us all something to chat about, I am never offended by different opinions, as long as we respect each other and keep in fun. Also, remember, everything is in storage and this car can be returned to completely stock at any time : )

It is your car & you are free to do anything to it you wish, but because you asked us for opinions,I have to agree with SC69Sam and others & wouldn't have done what you did. Yes you kept all the parts and it can be put back as it was when you bought it,but there are other cars you could've chosen better to do this on,not the Roof Deuce. The Roof Deuce was a special restored Day 2 car that was unique in it's own right & with widely known personal history.None of what you've done to it relates to it's history. Some might call what you did sacrilege, while others might applaud. I respectively think it's now a day too much car. |
