----Ron,,,Terry never made or had those tires made. Those tires were a project that my boss Richard Buxbaum and a friend in North Carolina (an X-Goodyear employee) put together. My pal (who many of you know, Stretch) put the very first set on his 396/425 65 Vette.
----We took the first shipment at Classic Motors. The check for the bulk of the tires (5000 total is what my memory tells me, could be wrong) was sizeable and Richard decided to lay off a bunch on Terry as he had been pestering Richard to become involved. I wasnt privy to what was going on at T.Michaelis and dont want to disparage anybodys reputation but 2500 tires went away and were never paid for. So basicly every 7.75 Goodyear tire with a gold or red stripe that was sold was pretty much pure profit for those Ohio boys for a long time. Oh,,,The good old days!!!......Bill S

Oh yes that is a tough tire to find. I remember helping Kenny Pascoe put a set together for his Burnished brown L78 Camaro. It was worth it in the end, they really sent that car to another level.

I'd bet there are quite a few guys who would pay an unmentionable price for a near new set of those Firestone small letter wide ovals.

----Reminds me of a Boston Autorama a long time ago. We were unloading next to a guy with a black 64 fuelie coupe with knock-offs. His trailer had another set of knock-offs and also had a beautiful black paint job. Made quite an impression, as this was long before there were reproduction KOs available. The whole rig could have been shown as is!......Bill S

That was a popular saying back in the day meaning he was going to beat anything and everything he encountered. I would most assuredly put it back on the car! Love these old photos! How do you sleep at night?
