Seller : "The only reason I think its not a HO 428 car is because you could not get air conditioning with the HO option."
He's leaving doubt. He's misleading the buyer into the possibility that somehow, someway, the car mysteriously has HO manifolds, but the 428HO option doesn't appear on the PHS. He should have just said "I installed HO manifolds, it's a regular 428 4-speed", and left it at that. ![]()

Mike I Own the GP and Im absolutly not trying to lead anyone. Ive listed the engine code and horsepower rating and showed my docs. You looking into it too much. I was just saying that with the amount of options this car and Ive never seen another one even close to That I would have bet it would have been an HO car if the selling dealer didnt want air conditioning. Thats just an opinion. Its still a beautiful car that I traded for a while back and if its not worth much then so be it but its still a beautiful car with no issues. As for the washer it leaked a little becuse it sat for months. Now that I fired it up and started usuing it swelled up and does not leak. Please dont bash my car!! Its really a nice car and I dont like people insinuating things. It does not have mysterious manifolds The last owner put them on with the Pypes system Its that simple and thats what i said in the ad. Ive left no doubt as ive talked to alot of people on it and I tell it like it is.

1st of all, I think it is an awesome car, very nice, would love to own it even though I too, am not a fan of red cars (well said above).
but I also agree with the others about the "puffery" It simply reads bad and raises doubt and detracts from how nice the car is on its own merits Case in point is the other car listed by the same seller: "Chevrolet : Impala 1966 Chevrolet Impala SS 396 4 Speed runs Like a SS 427 " In the description it says : "It runs and sounds nasty with the feel of a 427-425 hp engine!!" The GP is not an HO and the SS 396 is not an SS 427 or an L72 solid lifter car, the descriptions would read better if the "fishing lures" were left out IMHO

Don, very nice car and good luck with the sale. I didn't have any problems with the wording, the docs speak for the car.
I'm a big fan of 4sp big cars and this is the highest optioned 4sp '68 that I've seen... ![]() Mike |

A big Poncho w/ hideaways and a stick is a great combo...good luck w/ the sale!.
The only thing cooler for '68 may be the Canadian Grande Parisiennes we got up here...B-Body Ponchos w/ hideaways and factory Chevy MK1V's!. http://mclellansautomotive.com/photos/B12386.jpg ![]() ~ Pete -------------------- I like real cars best...the REAL real ones! |

When I lived in Detroit a few years ago, I looked at a '68 2+2 ragtop with a 427/385 4-speed.

Jim, In all do respect both those cars run and sound better than original! I have seen and heard them both at least a few times. In the fluff department..........don't know many sellers that don't try to "fluff" a little. As long as it isn't lies or misleading than a little "fluff" is part of the deal. After all, the sellers want to sell their cars and the market is tight. They are both real nice cars, especially for that money.

Don:
I can't believe some people are picking at your GP because it's red. When did a real red car with black interior and a 4-Speed become an undesirable color combination? That's just crazy. Anyway, it's a great car and good luck with the sale. For some reason, I don't think the fact that it's a red GP is going to hold it back. Just my $.02 Ed
