This is a standard bore LS6 shortblock that recently came out of an old hotrodder's garage where it had been since the late 70's. The details on the shortblock were faint after all these years. He said it came out of an old Chevelle but I would bet it was originally a boat engine. It looks like the timing chain broke or skipped a tooth or two as there are marks from the valves hitting every piston. There is one piston and rod missing and that cylinder needs a sleeve due to a crack as shown. The other cylinders are standard bore with no ridge. I imagine with a sleeve and replacement piston and rod, this block could stay standard bore.
The block casting number is 3963512 and the casting date is E 13 71. The pad stamp is T0522CRR and there is no VIN stamping. The crank is the very hard to find 3521 unit which is usually reserved for the LS7 only. This would be great for a replacement engine or hot rod. $1750 for the shortblock as shown. I can palletize and deliver to a nearby freight carrier for those far away. Thanks, Jason ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
