I love this thread too
I see Old Reliable had some dents:  will try to dig up some period pics to add, that 1969 Mach1 Mustang hit a pole at a very high rate of speed, but it appears the driver may have lived ... wonder if the snow tires had anything to do with the loss of traction ...

Could be 1939, the last year of the races before war broke out, but it could be postwar, 1946-49. Cars all look pre-war though.
