Tawny Gold Metallic - 1971/72 Mopar color affectionately (and accurately) referred to as baby s#%t brown.
Having changed a baby's diaper or two, a few times in my life, I can honestly say it is a dead-on color match! ![]() |

least favorite...chrome yellow , bright red , any flip flop color change paint, and now unfortunately any sunset orange, used to be my favorite, now every seccond car is sunset orange or some variation of it.
I'm really having a a hard time deciding on the color for my 67 camaro... in fact my project is pretty much stalled because I can't decide a color. I'm building a stripper dog dish big block 4 speed car. The car was originally gold on gold. I've changed the interior to black, and the colors I was tossing around are ![]()

It really depends on the car. Butternut Yellow looks great on a 1969 SS396 Chevelle (as the photo above obviously shows), just not a preferred color for me. I've seen a few 65 GTO's in a similar color, and they don't look very good in my opinion.
I'm actually more surprised by the dislike for red! I actually prefer a dark red, or burgundy, over a bright red, but again, if it was on a 68 GTO, with hideaways, just like the 1968 Motor Trend Car Of The Year, I'll take it! ![]()

Well, I don't think there's a color I dislike, but over the years I have heard more people say they really dislike bright yellow. For some reason, old Musclecars, in the hands of guys that don't care about originality, seem to end up day-glow yellow, usually with black stripes or black top. As for factory colors, Butternut Yellow is not one of my favorites. It's not ugly by any means, just not a fan of it on a Musclecar. And Sublime...yes.... ![]() [/ QUOTE ] Monarch Yellow http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS...EWAX%3AIT#v4-38 Like some have already mentioned vinyl roof/int and stripe color can really affect the look regardless of paint color-either for the better or worse. I love this car, but if it only had either a black roof or black interior you wouldn't need sunglasses to look at it. |
