I have to find a buildsheet that was handwritten I have for a 1971 labeled PP2 1/2 Pre production run pull at end of line for inspection built @ June of 70, a Malibu again no emblems with all the SS equippment 402, Th400, F41, 3:31 12 bolt, HD cooling,14x6 wheels, baby moons, White with a Blue top and Cloth bench interior. Wish I had kept that one !

Jim - I'd love any more info you have on the car you are describing. It sounds similar to my Monaco Orange 70.

Although you're saying this white and blue car was built "with SS equipment," the options you listed could be installed on any 70-72 Chevelle since they were not SS-specific. This includes the 402 BB, although it would have been the 330hp LS3 in a non-SS car rather than the 350hp L34 (in 1970). In 71 and 72 there was a single 402 engine (the LS3) for both SS and non-SS cars.

Here's the build sheet from my base model 70 Chevelle with those same options you listed. Interestingly, it was built at the end of June 1970 - right around the time you say this 71 was built:

It's just down to having yer ducks lined up so they don't get blown out of the sky-perhaps having touched the car prior at the very least would have helped

Sounds like too many brokers who are bumping the price various amounts At this point, it might be best if the seller just handles it on his own in order to clear the air!

....and just in case anybody's interested, Richard (aka Driver155) is stirring the pot with a completely different issue over on the Chevelle website....
