I had one of the burnt piston and rods from Eddie Hills 4.99 pass (first Top Fuel driver to do so) and had him sign it while at BIR that same year. One day during a cleaning binge at home, I tossed it. I can only imagine what that piece would be worth today!

Does anyone know whatever happened to the fridge door that Ed "Big Daddy" Roth drew the original Rat Fink design on? I remember reading a story once about the origins of the Rat Fink character and the story went that Ed had sketched it on a refridgerator door, since it was the only large white surface he could find, and that it was originally duplicated from there. The door was pitched out but was supposedly later recovered by Ed after the character started to take off. With Ed's passing, who knows whos hands it may be in now. Sure would be a cool piece to have today.

Wilma, I'll take the cigarette butts. I'm planning on trying to get a genetic profile of the Grump from the cigarette butts in hopes of cloning him so I can have my own "in house Grump" to work on my cars!

[/ QUOTE ] Careful, he'll want to toss all the rare stuff like dual-snorkel air cleaners, smog equipment, and exhaust manifolds in the garbage because that's what he did back in the day! |
