I find it rather hard to believe that the car would have been delivered w/o fluids. From a legal point of view there is no way GM would have sold the cars w/o things like...brake fluid, rear diff oil, trans oil, engine oil: anything that could have led to this car rolling off the delivery truck and not stopping until it crashed into a bus full of nuns, orphans and lawyers.
![]() Unless they sold it "as is" with no MSO/title and only a bill of sale. Even back in the 60's there were still lawyers out there lurking in the darkness ![]() |

That car or one very much like it was for sale in Tulsa area back in 1976 for $8,900 and I like a fool passed on it. Thought it was too expensive at that time. Never would have thought they would bring that kind of money today.
sure kicking myself now... Sigh.... Pantera

[/ QUOTE ] If I'm not mistaken, they drove the cars on & off the delivery trucks, so they HAD to have fluids in 'em...and the engine, tranny, & rear internals are gonna be JUNK without fluids if they sit for very long, unless it was opened up and coated with a grease or protectant of some kind... |

Pantera, that was the same car. Bruce Knierim bought it out of Oklahoma shortly after that and held onto it until the early 80's. I believe that it has sold, auction ended early.
Bruce and I had lunch today and discussed the car, he said it was very nice with a poor replacement carpet at that time and some slight yellowing of the interior. The person he sold it to would have done everything it needed correctly. Paint and chassis was very nice, this was a car that needed no massaging at all. I don't know if it has received a Benchmark or Bow Tie award, it was in the Special Collection in 1985. |
