Back in the late 90's-early 2000's. there was a '66 Chevelle SS396 that used to run Antioch speedway dirt track. One time the SS hood flew off and everybody drove over it. . Next race it was back on the car..

Mo Carter's '67 Z-28, one of the first 25 built, went on to run in the Trans-Am series and then became a dirt tracker. Not the only one that did.

A white 427 COPO Chevelle went to its death on the "Raceway 7" dirt circle track here in Ohio back in the late 1970's.

One of the 200 Z16 Malibu SS cars

The car rolled in a crash. What was left was stripped of all useful parts and the body/frame were scrapped somewhere in FLA.

My boss and I had 69 GTO's , and I wanted a hidden headlight setup for mine. He knew somebody that had one I could have if I pulled it off the car. I had to do it in the next couple days because he entered it in the local fair's demo derby. It was a pretty nice car, I had to put the mint front endura bumper back on, what a shame.
