Just to let you guys know, I'm the buyer of Rob's LS6. I paid more than the $47,500 that was offered by the guy in Ohio.
I had been working with Rob on buying this car for over a week, and had gone to see it before any price negotiations had started.
I called Rob (not the first time)the same day Dick from Ohio was coming to see the car. Rob told me that a guy from Ohio was coming to buy the car and was told that he shouldn't come and try to lowball the price, as $50K was the price.
When Dick left Rob's without agreeing to a price, Rob called me to say the car was still available. We quickly came to an agreement and told Rob I'd be down on Thursday to pick the car up.
Apparently, Dick called back to Rob shortly after we made our agreement and was told the car was sold. AGAIN, I paid more than $47.5K that Dick had offered for the car.

I don't know all the particular phone conversations that Rob and Dick had, but Rob was always very up front with me and told me what he wanted and expected for the car. I negotiated with him having full respect for his position, and made the deal work under those guidelines.

I don't think Rob did anything wrong to anyone in this transaction (that I know about), even if you feel I have a biased point of view.

This all just shows that if you want something bad enough, pay the asking price if it's close to your real offer, and get the deal closed.

You know Bill, I thought the very same thing while I was trying to buy the car.

He'd probably say something like: "Way to go hot shot"

Congrats Rick, I agree with you Rob did nothing wrong, thats the chance the other buyer took by making an offer an not paying the asking price.. if the other guy had intentions of buying it for full price and wanted to play the walk away and see if he folds game its his own fault. JMO

Thanks Dan, appreciate it. I'm in the process of sorting through all the goodies and am proceeding with plans to get some minor body work done. To be ready for paint, I may need a drivers door for it, as the original has some slight collision damage and I'd much rather have a straight donor door. I possibly have one in stock here, but I haven't looked through them yet.

Thanks to all for the congrats.
This car is a near twin to my LS5 car and would make a cool his/hers display if I ever restored that one also.
