Yeah... the same argument works for tractor discussions!

Pete,
Shouldn't you be using this time to scrape chicken droppings off your cars instead of giving me a hard time?

Pete,
Do you use 14" and 15" Polyglas tires on your cars? And if so do you see that the 15's are better(traction wise) than the 14's? Or if there is anyone else with knowlege feel free to jump in.

Mike; I've only used 14" rims, never 15". I would like to try as I think they would work better, but this is pure stock don't you know. Sorry got to go scrap the droppings off my cars now. I used to think it was chicken droppings but am now getting suspicious that it might be road runner $hit.

Well guys, that's the down side of the Studes(hah!)...the Google site is just a list of archived messages, taken from the Usenet newsgroup. Sooo...to post a message, you have to subscribe to the alt.autos.studebaker newsgroup. Really easy, and there are TONS of other newsgroups out there that discuss musclecars. Like 15,000+(?) on Usenet...a bunch, anyway.

Now, after you get setup with a news account, and you are tired of messing with the Studes, let me know, and I will show you a thread where a couple of guys SWEAR up and down stock muscle cars CAN'T/DIDN't run 12s, and no small block cars other than the new LT-1/LS-1 cars can run 13s...happy reading!

<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>Boy, they don't get out much, eh! <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

That it is an understatement! The particular argument I was referring to was on a Mustang newsgroup, and the basis for his argument was old magazine tests. He said when the cars were tested originally, they didn't run 12s, but when I pointed out some slow times for the new cars, he said that I dug up the slowest times I could find, and that they were not indicative of the cars true performance. It was real close to being really ugly, but I realized he wasn't going to open his mind, so I pretty much dropped it. Heck, I even invited him to the Pure Stock Drags, but he said they didn't interest him!

As for the Studes, I will have to say that most of them are civil, and have been nothing but positive towards the "encounters" between our cars. But, like any group, they have their bad apples, which seem to get the attention of people like me. As for the comments from those bad apples...while some might call them "put downs"...I call them motivation!
