Nice early Camaro circa 1971/1972. The guy who owned this car and painted it, Chip Whittington, painted all of Rick Dobbertins award winning cars in the 1980's and 1990's.

Yep, but get the Chevrolet centers, not the Ford. I heard Stockton was closed but someone else has taken it over??? There is another company making these out of Ca also. Here are the Chevrolet centers.A set of 15x6 or 15 x7 reversed would look great on a 8-9" wide tire. Reversed chrome reverse was so late 1960's/early 1970's-just what the Camaro convertible in the photos has. I think a standard offset wheel would just not capture the time period...that is more of a early 1960's look IMO ![]() |

They may be on Classracer but they are posted more on the HAMB or that other Site with the guys name I just can't think of. There are many photos of this photographer/drag strip that are worth looking at. The old Al Maynard camaro has a quick change rear end in it I believe. Not used by many but he was successful with it back then. These were NOT Day-2 cars, they were race cars not street driven with an occasional run down the drag strip. Gassers, Modified Production cars of the 70's were the best show NHRA had IMO. I believe Modified Eliminator went defuncted by around 1982 or so. Not sure of that 80's date. Many Pro Stock guys got there start running Modified Eliminator along with SuperStock! A great era in NHRA drag racing!

Those pictures appear to be taken at Edgewater Drag Strip, Cleves Ohio, near Cincinatti. I was only there a few times back in the early 70's, but I'm sure that's where and when they were taken.
