I like it...

GM does not like retro... why would we expect a retro Camaro? This is cool for 2009 Camaro. Better than nothing.

Dan,

Happy Birthday - I hope you like the new Camaro, born on your day!!

In person (IMHO) It's a good looking, muscular car with "attitude". Our goal now is to contact GM and Chevrolet and tell them we want one built for production.

By the way, the Camaro is the big auto show news around here, with TV news coverage mentioning Camaro Saturday night, Sunday night, and tonight the Camaro led all the new releases from the show.
The unveil was attended by all kinds of GM brass, including the head of Chevrolet, the head of GM, Bob Lutz, and lots of other dignitaries including Roger Penske and Jim Perkins.

The GM Heritage Museum event Sunday evening was awesome as well..

I don't dislike it but it doesn't generate in me that "I gotta have one" feeling like the Challenger or Shelby GT 500 does. I look at the Challenger concept or New 2007 Shelby and immediately get an emotional reaction that I have to have one. This concept has me looking for things to like. I am trying to like it but it doesn't generate much excitement. It would have to come with tremendous performance for me to buy one. Kind of vanilla generic styling like the new Corvette. Very GM like in styling IMHO.

Roof line's nice. Cowl induction? Curves of the profile are pretty cool, too. Though the edges and angles of the nose/tail seem inconsistent - from a different project, maybe? Z06 drivetrain'd go a ways toward curing what ails the aesthetic, for me. That said, the Challenger's all of a piece. Same the GT500.

I really don't care for the large wheel lips or whatever you would call them. They look as out of place on the Camaro as they do on the base C6. At least they got it right on the Z06...if you compare the Z06 wheel lips with the base C6, it looks like the Z06 is how the car was supposed to look and the C6 looks chunky and out of place.

At least they got away from the "GENERIC" styling---It's got Caddy dna, but it is a workable platform--If they can smooth the angular lines out a bit and maybe go down a shoesize or two in the tires,I think maybe you might just find a first run of Camaros --I just hope they follow thru with production ---------It's a first step towards the light......

I think it needs a more pronounced hood scoop...the cowl hood lines get lost in all the other lines on the car...I would like to see the stingray style hood on the car...can anyone photoshop that?...similar to what was mentioned before, if I saw this car in my review mirror I would think it was a caddy...it needs to look more aggressive from the front and a more noticeable hood scoop would help - I think...

But I don't know why people want a retro look so bad.

Hey Jeff, ever wonder why they are still selling Mustangs and the Camaro and Firebird are on vacation?
