Unfortunately a removed vinyl top and paint job would make this one disappear relatively easily. Nobody would recognize it.
I'm still going to have to disagree with you Daniel (MosportGreen66). Stolen cars leave the US all the time in conex boxes. Yes, it's more difficult now, but it's still going on without a doubt. Only a small percentage of shipping containers ever get checked.

Maybe the Donald can see to it that nothing goes out of OR comes into the US without the proper paperwork..

This car could have been an order and already sold for oversea buyer. We do not have the manpower to search every container leaving or coming in ports. 60 mins had a story of stolen luxury cars going to africa, they run them through the busiest ports to increase the chance of not getting caught. The port authority and homeland security can put a flag on that vin# make, model and try to watch all paperwork. But they will never be able to search every container.

There are dozen things that &quot;could have&quot; helped. But that won't bring the car back. It was a crime of opportunity, wrong place, wrong time for Mr. Juliano.... I still hope that a solution similar to what happened with COPO Pete (RIP) is in the cards.
