I guess that's why supercars like this will always be out of my reach. Back in 84-85 People laughed at me and thought I lost my mind when I paid 6 grand for a 70 Ram IV judge with 32,000 miles and bought a Real deal Z16 chevelle for 8 grand. Drove it to work and beat the snot out of it on weekends. Oh well

Here's the orig for sale post in 2007. Looks like it sold in 14hrs.
https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbt...aro#Post280605 It appears every owner has tried to make it "nicer" rather than preserving it's originality. If the paint was cleared that's easy to confirm with a polish or fine compound. Still a really nice car....

What has been done to the bottom ?
It was for sale 4-5 auctions ago and it was pretty dirty for 15K miles [mostly original] with a H pipe or some type of aftermarket exhaust if memory serves me correct,I have a pic somewhere . It had around 50-60 pics in the auction at that time. It hasnt been listed with an undercar photo the last 3-4 or so times its been advertised,so maybe its different now? It is a body number off the car my friend has in the for sale section and oddly they are 15K and 20K mile original drivetrain cars from the same dealership. Would be nice for someone to own both. I thought the unrestored engine looked absolutely perfect for the car, rather than the restored engine .

Sad....pretty much the same storyline as for the 4K mile Mist green 70 Chevelle LS6

I don't think you can compare that 4k mile LS6 to this Copo since the LS6 was slammed pretty hard in an accident and had the resulting sheet metal repairs/new paint work done.

----Mark is correct about the 4k car as I owned it along with a partner when the accident happened (a kid in our shop got T-boned by a drunk). The engine had been out and back in before we got it, and the car had headers as well, smog was gone, etc., etc., etc. But, boy, did it have a beautiful interior. The car was deemed totaled but it was fixed by a guy named Vic Studer (RIP) who was a legendary body guy and painter around the Chicago area for years. Much later the car showed up at a Mecum auction and the paint had gone bad from the car sitting out, but sold and then got re-restored, and maybe re-re-restored. I have lost track, but now the car is a beauty again......Bill S
