Exactly! I'd much rather wait a day and watch Stock & Super Stock elim rounds over Fuel qualifying. I think the only way to make it happen would be to have the Big 3 auto makers involved for advertising during those rounds - how appropriate would it be to break away to a commercial on the new Camaro SS or Z06 Vette after watching the COPO Camaros run??

"I would love to see the Stock and Super Stock cars on TV by replacing the qualifying runs from TF dragsters and funny cars..... anyone else prefer this approach?"

When the Top Fuel cars and Funny Cars run is when I head to the concession stand and the out house. I go back to the stands for the Stock and Super Stocks, not the other way around.

It would be so much more interesting if done that way.

I used to be so upset when they would spend so much air time
interviewing TF/FC guys while trying to show the PS motorcycles
during their runs, hell they would even abbreviate the quals for the MC'S.

Why I quit racing MC'S and went to door slammers...
& quit watching it on TV

If you have read any of my posts they all have the same theme. Bang for the buck. I live in a very depressed economy and struggle to keep a good job. Last year I worked 4 different jobs after being told the company was closing. I have been in bracket racing for 22 years and really enjoy it as my day off. The track I worked at and raced answered JR dragster with an IHRA approved class called TCR, Teen Championship Racer. We approached IHRA with it as cheaper way to get kids into racing. My youngest son wanted to do it. I bought a 2 adult owner 1985 Monte Carlo SS for $1,400 and he ran it for 3 years until he turned 16. He then wanted to move up. One of my racers bought a chassis car and I asked what he was going to do with his old car, he said eventually sell it. I ended up buying the rolling chassis for $2,800. We put an $800 dollar engine and a $1,200 trans and converter in it and ran 11.93. Ran 93 octane gas did short burn outs and got almost 2 seasons out of a pair of slicks. We had fun but because of working on 3 other cars I ended up selling my car. I am working with another young man now that wanted to go fast. I found him a 1985 Iroc chassis car for $10,000 running, ran 9.20 at 145. I am now making the car street legal. My point is YOU put what you want into it. Racing is not cheap, yes, I spent $75 a day to race and that was stripped down as cheap as I could go. But the fun was worth every penny. I have met a lot of good people and a lot of a deceased legends.

Erica just won the K&N Pro stock challenge against her old crew chief...Dave

Connolly.

EE runs 6.646 at 208.39 as Dave Connolly pushes the clutch in early to claim $50K first prize!!

OH yes I would! She has a 67 Chevelle SS 396 at home that has a clutch so if

she would sign my car she can do a 60 ft burnout!
