About two years ago at the York US30 Musclecar Madness event, I asked The Grump about the whereabouts of the '69 car as it was always (and still is) one of my favorites. He seemed kind of irritated that I asked but said he thought it was "out around Pittsburgh somewhere".

Being a completely different block and with a bigger bore and lesser stroke I thought the Can-Am motors were always a different displacement than 427?.
Marketed as a 427 perhaps and I forget what they ended up at but in any variation the resulting cubes were always something other than 427?.  ~ Pete

Being in the top league I guess you could buy a crank with any stroke you wanted. I have read that "Grumpy" commented the engine to someone saying something like: they (the tech inspectors) couldn´t tell the difference betwen the CAN AM block and the ZL-1 block.

The 69 did not come from Ammon R Smith Chev for some reason. I cannot reveal any more as it is not my place to do so. No one to my knowledge is seeking the 69 as it is believed the current owner is aware of its pedigree.
