Is it me or are there some deals going out there .Watched it Friday night and
Saw some cars that I would think would have sold for much more that they did. If you watch Greg Jackson seemed a little worried his not accepting reserve cars must be screwing some sellers. ![]() Saw two 59 De Sotos go for big bucks ![]() One more thing What Is the story behind the white 59 Cadillac they called it The murder car ![]() |

What's the scoop?
I saw two LS-6 Chevelles go across the block last night and neither one hit 100K. Is it my imagination, or are the prices falling. Some of the Mustangs were bringing strong money though.

His name is Craig Jackson and the problem with reserve auctions was many paople thought their cars were worth more than they really were. We all think our cars our the best right ? So you get a bunch of cars that don't sell. Bidders walk away pissed because they came to buy a certain car only to find out it was never for sale at a realistic price. There is no easy answer. Tonight will be the big night to watch. There were many great deals and many cars also went for more than what I thought they were worth. People sitting at home and seeing the great deals might decide they need to come next year with money to buy a cool car. Will next years prices jump because of all the people that saw this years deals and showed up ? There has never been any car sale event of this size that is watched so closely by so many. Each year this will be a facinating watch so see what happens and what effect it has on the market. Great event and very well run especially for the size of it.

Poor Craig did freak out a few times. I think bidders should keep an eye on him because he might be a tip-off to a good buy. Might. But that's the chance you take at BJ with no reserve. I saw one car sell for less than the engine alone was worth. I seem to remember a big block red vette near the end that was a good buy too.

Lots of armchair quarterbacks out there. It is easy to say this car or that car went too cheap, but IMO, the deciding factor is, if you were at the auction, would you have bid on the car. If not, then it was not a bargain. It is easy to spend some elses $$$.

I really do not think that it because of the market prices are falling
There was some cars that sold for less than some one had in it Charlie I understand were you are coming from Just look at all the clones There are more Z –28s out there than Gm Built. Every one thinks there car is a million dollar baby There also was another problem I can not remember if it was last year or the year before Now let me see if I can get the facts right”’ Me and my head injury some times gets things mixed up. There was a red 67 big block 435 hp vette that sold at B/J for 175,000 It was told at the time of sell that it was NCRS certified , Top Flite certified, The Greg Jackson boys went over it and certified it as numbers matching And the real deal A few week later the fellow who purchased the car goes to put the title in his name and to get plates for it .It was then discovered that there was another vette on the road with the same vin . The fellow who purchased the car was so sure he had the real deal went to the authorities The other vette was traced some were in Texas. When the authorities went to check this car out it was a yellow . the woman who owned it showed the authorities the original order the bill of sell and all the paper work show all work done on the car form day one She was the original owner all the hinting vins matched So some one went to a lot of work build this red vette but no one ever checked the vin they were using was used I another vette Even B/J did not catch Form there I never hear any more about this car but I would think it was easy to trace back to see who built this mess Every one was checking for numbers matching and never checked the vin To night will tell how things are going There are still a lot of nice cars to be had And what is the story of the 59 Cadillac murder car |

From what Ive seen there has been a couple of deals but nothing is a give away by any means. Prices stayed strong right until the very end last night..I stayed around to see if I could get a good buy on a custom bike the went second to last.. It didnt happen it brought huge money.. cars with eye candy appeal are strong. Pro Touring Camaro brought around 170k or 180k that was strong.. I personally thought the car was nothing to look at but at least 2 other guys thought it was the bomb! LS6 Chevelles?? Most were automatic's and I think all but 1 was numbers matching.. so 80k to 90k seemd like good money to me considering the car, Im sure a 4 speed car with papers with do 125k to 150k just watch tonight. I do think the buyers are alittle more informed this year not so many crazy people with money to burn or drinking to much...but that could all change today!!

I know that Quick Bowtie was there and if he would have thought that the ls6 chevelles were underpriced,he would have bought them so i agree with charley. Also you do not see these cars in person so you do not know what condition they are really in.I never saw under the hood of the silver ls6 and the red ls6 was very incorrect.

I agree with Chad totally. If you haven't seen the car, the docs, etc., AND, the weather, you are not in a position to comment on what car is a deal, or, that the market is falling. IMO, the prices were very strong in general for the cars that were auctioned.

Prices seemed good up until late Friday night, thats about when most people start heading over to Russo Steele auction which is mostly a muscle car auction. The bidders for muscle cars end up over there. In matter of fact the market is actually pretty strong when you see what the older land yahts were bringing. How about that model A cabrolet for over 150k thats unbelievable.
