Family IS where it's really at...stuff like this sure makes rare, matching numbers and anything else seem foolish in comparison! . ![]() ~ Pete

Bruce,
When I heard what the SCR9 auction was going to benefit this year I knew I had to do something, especially after losing my child. So I dug out the 2 Nickey catalogs I bought new and brought them. They couldn't have gone to a better cause. It made me feel good. Kids are important! ![]() Verne |

Verne, thanks to you, and everyone else who either donated items and/or bid.
![]() I think everyone felt good participating, knowing it was for such a good cause. I know I had a good time, and even brought home a really neat 1969 Lemans Blue 427 Yenko Nova diecast. Had to out bid Charley for it, not for sure why he wanted it so bad. ![]()

Thanks Tom,
I think it was Charley who went to $340. for my yellow cover catalog. By the way Charley, if there's a circle around an L-88 cam part number in there, I apologize. At least you know the catalog was used the way it was meant to be. ![]() And let's not forget the superb job Joe did at the podium in raising over $3500. for that great cause. He pulled every last dollar out of everyone's pockets!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Verne PS: that auction was the most heart-warming experience I've had in a long time. ![]() |

Great story and update..very touching! I have a good friend who is the longest surving Bone Marrow Recipient in Canada. He was #6 in 1980 to receive a doner marrow. By the time he was relesed from Hosp (after 6 months) the other recipients had passed away. 26 years later he is doing fine. Look forward to hearing about Holly 26 years from now.

Hey Paul...sorry for the late reply. That is amazing. Speaking of bone marrow donors/recipients...at one point when Holly had an extended hospital stay at Childrens Hospital Orange County (CHOC)we were able to meet and talk with Rod Carew (baseball player) because his daughter desperately needed a bone marrow transplant. She got one but ended up passing a while later...
Also, every year at Christmas I take some of the Harley-Davidson teddy bears to Phoenix Children's Hospital...to the pediatric cancer ward for the kids spending Christmas there...I know what it feels like to spend a holiday in the hospital. Seeing their faces when they are given the bears is the best Christmas gift I could ever get! ![]()
