It's just so cool seeing the evolution of the car through the pics!
Especially being a ZL1 that original hood w/ frt. plate shot is priceless including shoe behind the wheel!!! Comparing Nats shot w/ the '76 mag article pics Jan posted, aside from hood change, decal additions and a few other details the car looks much the same, next owner? ![]() ![]() ![]() [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/beers.gif[/img] ~ Pete

That is the rear seat frame bulk head with a factory "crayon" X-code under the glue. Shows X4 on this X44 code COPO/ZL1. It is fathom green paint misted over the factory gray primer so it looks to have a blue hugh to it.
We routinly check for the correct codes on these orginal body cars. The hole is a screw hole from the added rear seat firewall. We had to unscrew the firewall to see the crayon marking. |

On some cars the crayon marks are hidden with a lot of glue like this one, some cars have less glue and the marks are visible. On my car they went bezerk with the glue and it has even more than this one but you can see the X7 if you look hard and know what to look for.
