Very cool car. My mom has a 62 tempest and they are odd little cars. I know they aren't easy to find parts for.

This being a FACTORY-BUILT A/FX car, it's neat to think of the cars' that this little Tempest lined up against back in the day : Z-11 Impalas, lightweight Max Wedges and fiberglass Ford Galaxies and Thunderbolts! WOW! Wish they could talk. When the auction started, the seller did not have access to the trunk (locked with no key), but did you see the updated pictures of what was finally found in he trunk?! The original Tri-Y headers AND the original SD421 Tempest exhaust manifolds with the factory balance tube and dumps! Simply incredible. [/ QUOTE ] not to mention the very first Race Hemi's debuted in January of 64.

I am currently reading Glory Days by Jim Wanger. These are the cars he was involved in while working for Pontiac. It is a very interesting story on how this type of car was developed.

Also being discussed here..the pit bull owner had a buy it now for 4k until someone spilled the beans-apparentely the steel front clip threw everyone off until someone actually checked the VIN from the manifest.
