Poor man's disco ball--a fluorescent light with a bad ballast.

(Maybe the Bee Gees or KC and the Sunshine Band were playing on the radio? )

Music to my ears; who needs a stereo when you can listen to that thumpin' motor?

No pics today, was running around like crazy trying to get a half-dozen different things done by the afternoon and forgot to grab the camera.

Painting is done under the back of the car and the rear bumper is back on.

Dropped off the rest of the interior (carpet, seats, door panels) to reinstall. Surprised me because I wasn't expecting Bodyguy to reinstall that stuff since I'd pulled it out before delivering the car to him, but he insisted I bring it out.

Rear antenna is installed. Holy crap is it a gut-wrenching sight to watch that hole saw going through the top of that perfectly painted quarter!!! I thought I was going to

(The first Jack Wagon that comes along and tries to "sproing" the rear antenna will rue the day they were born...)

New tail lamp harness is installed.

Front rims are done and the car's back on all 4's again. Can't wait `till the paint has cured a little more so I can stick those Dog Dish Caps on! (yes, Rachel still hates them lol!)

I stuck around for a little over an hour to help Bodyguy today while he was waiting on #2 to arrive. Bodyguy broke for lunch around 12:45, so I headed back home then.

I guess BodyguyS are going to reinstall the rest of the interior this week, but they have to get Glassguy out to glue the DS door glass back to the bottom glass channel before it can be reinstalled.

I *may* have some more mid-week updates, but it depends on Glassguy's schedule.

More soon!

I know how you feel about drilling the quarters. Our 396 car didn't come from the factory with a radio but someone had installed one some time in the past. With fresh factory quarters and new paint, I couldn't bring myself to drill the quarter for the antenna. That was 13 years ago. The stereo sound out the back is much better.

Glasssguy was on site when we arrived today. I was greeted by the sight of prepped front & rear glass when I walked in the shop.

May I present one completed Chevelle posterior, complete with fuel tank, antenna, rear bumper, and trunk wiring buttoned up, patiently awaiting the installation of the rear glass.

One Chevelle front end, almost complete, only awaiting a pair of high beam headlights, a pair of inner fenders, and one "Chevelle" script emblem on the hood.

The interior is almost buttoned up, just needs a sill plate, windlace, rear seat and final assembly on the DS door.

Glassguy (black shirt) and Bodyguy #2 prepping for the installation of the front windshield.

Installing said windshield.

Glassguy prepping for the rear window install.

Glassguy and #1 installing said rear window.

Glassguy and #1 installing the DS door glass.

Glassguy and #1 installing rear window moldings.

Thankfully #1 spent some time tweaking the repop moldings before-hand, otherwise there wouldn't have been a snowball's chance in hell they would've fit once the gass was installed.

And with the successful install of the rear window moldings, the back of the car is essentially complete!

Installing the front windshield moldings.

Done!

This thing's getting awfully close to being done!

I think I'm gonn'a faint when this damn thing's actually ready to come back home.

BodyguyZ were doing a little final adjustments to the front fenders as we were leaving. I dunno what to expect for next weekend, `cuz there ain't a helluv'alot left to do!!

Gettin' down to the wire here, shouldn't be long now!
