I have a close friend who bought a 67 435 vett brand new and put 88's in it and drove the car to collage in fla. from NJ and used it as a daily driver with the 4.88's for over 15 years. |

Mark, I found some more pictures of the 70 and 69 together. If I get a chance later I will post them. They are from the 80's when I drove the '70 on the street.. Memories..The engine makes power to 7200, and Valve float happens at 7800 on the factory tach. Yep I drove it, raced it on the street, One day Topped it out to 130 on the factory Speedo, the rear mirror was shaking so bad you couldent see a damn thing too, hit a bump or dip in the road and the car would slightly lift, land and bark the tires as the rears grabbed pavement again... How I managed not to blow it up is just pure luck, and with help of the 3:73's I am sure. Original engine still purrs like a kitty today... Phil |

Rick, No reducer. When I did that I went way past the factory red line on the tach (was 16 and living forever), and wanted to see what my $2600.00 dollar car would do. In hind sight I guess that is right where the 9796 package helped as the front did not lift and the rear did stay planted, so I guess it worked. Phil |
