This is the same deal with restoring a badly beaten super car... your preserving/saving a VIN #.

Never said the car was not worth Restoring.. just not Worth as much as the same car in same condition with the original drivetrain. As it stands now, to me.. it's a 65 Chevelle. Just my opinion gentlemen, nobody has to agree, it's what makes the hobby and the world so wonderful.. we can all agree to disagree and have different opinions without disliking each other for that opinion!

There really is not a correct answer to the question. I was just wondering your opinion.

Again it's all in the eye of the beholder. Sex & women & cars. Some are pigs & some look like show horses.

Like many ZL1s, most Z16s don't have the original engine and/or drivetrain. Also like the ZL1, it doesn't make them any less collectable. The Z16 has an incredible number of special, unique chassis parts. Like any desirable, valuable car, ANY legit Z16 is worth restoring - I hope we don't get into the "replace the handle, replace the bit - is the axe still original" debate again......

I have to agree and brings up the old question again. Just because much of the car is missing, does it warrant crushing a piece of history? I would much rather see the car in a museum with the wrong drive train then see it get crushed because much of it is missing.
