Default Re: L72/L78/COPO production dates?

My 70 L78 Camaro is an 01C car, VIN is 506xxx; CamarosRUs has an L78 01C car, VIN is about a hundred different from mine.

It seems to me that I have heard of several June 1970 built L78 Camaros, but I can't find any notes on them at the moment..

I cut up a 70 camaro #00523 for the back wheel well tubs for my 70 car. The back halve was perfect but was hit hard in the front.

Again, thanks for the responses The knowledge available on this site amazes me.

Let me see if I understand this correctly...

So there weren't any 1969 model year L72/L78 cars (of any body style) built after Dec. `69 (during the Jan-Feb 1970 carry-over)? Is this correct? (I know the L78 option was available on the `70 model year cars, and the LS6 replaced the L72 option.)

Sorry if I confused anyone.

Thanks again
Eric

Were any Z-28s produced really late in 1969? I've been wondering since I have a 4053 Holley dated 902, second week, October, 1969. It's pretty much the same question. When does the carb stop being "assembly line" and become "over the counter"?

As stated earlier in the thread, Camaro production continued through the 1st week of November 1969.

Several years ago I inspected a 1970 Camaro with a VIN of <00500 with a 1B body build date. Truly an unusual car as many drivetrain dates were from late summer/early fall-1969.
Rick (mr70), I was told the strike in late '69 was actually a Teamster strike that affected delivery of parts used for assembly line production. Do you have info of a UAW strike during that period? If so, do you have dates?
